Jim Reeves sang a song many years ago: Welcome to my world. Won’t you come on in? Miracles I guess Still happen now and then.
Welcome to our world Stone Richard Larsen, born June 30, 2011.
Life is a miracle. Unfortunately, we take the gift of life for granted as babies are born into this world every minute, perhaps every second. This miracle called life, where chromosomes from father and mother mix genetic information from two entirely different families to become a new life all its own seems almost mundane. But this process is truly a gift from God alone.
Psalm 139: 13-16 For You created my inmost being, You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made, Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body. All your days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.
Stone, as your maternal grandfather, I now promise to fulfill my obligation, my privilege to “Train a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6 I will tell you of the mighty works of your Creator so that we will one day worship Him together as heirs of eternal-life through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Welcome to our world. Won’t you come on in?
