Remember Joshua? Moses sent him into the promised land to spy it out as Israel prepared to possess it. Twelve spies actually went into the land but only two saw the real picture, Joshua, son of Nun and Caleb, son of Jephunneh.
Ten spies saw hopelessness because they only placed their hope on themselves. They saw only their own strength-or weakness actually. Joshua and Caleb saw things differently. They must have stood as dumbfounded as I feel today when the other ten spies gave their report.
I now live in a state and nation where “good is evil and evil is good.” Marijuana is legalized, homosexuality is the law of the land, laziness is rewarded…the setbacks go on. But I am not without hope.
No, I don’t think that America will rise again. The Soviets said that they would destroy us from within and today I believe they have done it. Nations fall. Get over it. America does not hold an exemption to God’s wrath for its disobedience.
As a nation, we have disregarded Israel and sided with her enemies through our lack of action and pathetic foreign policy. God has already told us the results of that decision. “I will bless them that bless you and I will curse them that curse you.” As a nation, we have sided with Satan and choose to worship other Gods.
But God’s kingdom and God’s plan marches on. It’s about Him, not America. Today is a tough day for those of us that see things through different eyes.
Romney was right. When 47% of the public is receiving benefits (earned or unearned), they are not going to vote for anybody except those who promise more.
