With the recent media blitz concerning methadone deaths, I remain somewhat astounded that some people still believe the answer lies in more governmental regulation. Really? We are already raising a generation of functional idiots who don’t even know how to cross the street without a sign telling them when to cross. What ever happened to just looking both ways?
Do you really want more governmental regulations? I passed a car yesterday that was part of a fleet of automobiles owned and operated by the federal government. Clearly stated on the outside of the car was a sign that said, “Fire extinguisher installed inside.” Â
Really? Do you realize what it costs to have a fire extinguisher installed in every automobile? You just never know when those darn cars are going to suddenly burst into flames. That’s happened to me —-how many times?  That’s what you get with idiots (read government) in charge of making decisions.
Back to the methadone problem. How about just holding the physician who writes a prescription for 300 methadone pills in one month responsible for the consequences? Ever hear of Michael Jackson? Don’t regulate the rest of us who have a better sense not to.
