Yesterday I had the misfortune of having to share some bad news with a patient of mine. She came into the office with abdominal pain and was sure that she had gallbladder disease because she had seen this presentation before in her parents as she cared for them in their old age.
I had sent the patient for an abdominal ultrasound and a subsequent CAT scan that revealed pancreatic cancer instead. She has a 7 cm mass in the body of the pancreas and metastatic lesions in the liver as well. Unless a miracle occurs, this will be her subsequent cause of death, to put it bluntly.
Yesterday I had the privilege of sharing some news with a patient of mine who is dying of pancreatic cancer. We were able to share spiritual truths together, spend time in prayer, and assure her of my commitment in helping her through the battle that she will now be in for the rest of her life.Â
Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. She was able to leave the office remembering that God loves her and although death is sure for everyone of us, she is special and God will be there to bring her comfort and strength. Please pray for Jane.
