Special prosecutor Louis Freeh relaeased his report and Jerry Sandusky has been found guilty on 45 accounts of sexual abuse.
What’s even more amazing is the recent letter released and verified by the Paterno family. In it, Joe Paterno defies not only common sense but stupifies me in stating that the Sandusky problem doesn’t reflect badly on the Penn State football program.
He stated that no one should be ashamed to say they are “Penn State.”
I disagree. Everyone from Penn State should be ashamed. And I think that the NCAA should hand down strict penalties to be sure that every university hears the message that this type of crime can not and will not be tolerated.
To do anything less is to minimize the tragic consequences that will effect the many, many families Jerry Sandusky has touched (no pun intended) and that Penn State officials, including Joe Paterno ignored.
Luke 17:1-3 Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. So watch yourselves.
