Every day in the office, I receive fax notifications that require my signature so that my diabetic patients can “receive their diabetic supplies at home.” Doesn’t that sound convenient?
I was greatly burdened by these requests until I decided to start bringing the patients back into the office to have them help me complete the required forms together. This not only takes less overall time because they know first hand the information that I would normally have to scour the chart for, but it can be used to generate revenue for my office as well.
Then guess what? They had no idea what the fax was about. They hadn’t even requested the company contact me for “getting their medications at home.” I quickly learned that it’s a scam. Now the requested paperwork  just goes directly from the fax to the shredding machine. Do not stop at go, do not get gray hair,  and do not collect $200.00.
