I spent the first part of my Christian life as a total idiot when it came to knowing God’s word. I grew up in churches where man’s opinion was held in esteem over actual Biblical truth. I was zealous but ignorant. In sincerity, I went south trying to get to the north pole, and that accounts for nothing. How sad.
And then I was admitted to Washington State University and more importantly, began attending a church there where what God thought mattered and nothing else. And through the systematic teaching of His word, chapter by chapter, paragraph by paragraph, and verse by verse, I began to see the mind of God. It all began to make sense.
My faith is not a blind faith. It is a faith based upon the promises and love of an actual Creator.
I am especially thankful for the Pastors that have been faithful in studying and teaching God’s word to me and my family. I think of people like Pastor Ron Breckel(sp), Pastor Ken Jensen, Pastor Bob Bernard, Pastor Jim Herring, Pastor Ray VanderWall, and Pastor John Schubert. They are not especially popular but they are faithful.
And they are not alone. Under the direction and leadership of these Pastors there have been other teachers that have also been faithful in teaching God’s truth, even if it isn’t popular. “Thank you” to each of you and all that you have done. You are good and faithful servants.
