There is a lot that goes on in life. And as I grow from young to older, I am always learning new things.Â
It also seems that just when I think I have figured something out, a new wrinkle appears and things seem to be different than I ever thought they were before. This phenomenon can be exhilarating, it can be frustrating. Pretty soon, you don’t seem to know up from down.
That is not to say that there are no absolutes in life. There certainly are. Truth is truth. Two plus two is four, no matter who is teaching the math class. On the personal level, I find the Bible and the teachings of Christ to be the source of most of those truths.
David (as in David and Goliath, or David and Bathsheba) felt the same way. In my recent reading of the Word, I read a truth directly from David’s own mouth and the wisdom that he had learned as he lived his life on earth centuries before me.
As David hid from those who sought his life, as he struggled to lead Israel as king, as he developed personally as a father and husband, he came to at least one conclusion. Psalm 56:9 “…This I know, that God is for me.”  Â
Isn’t that comforting? No matter what is happening in my life, I can rest on one thing for sure:  God is for ME.
I find a ton of comfort in that. I hope that you can too. God forbid if He wasn’t for us but against us.
