Happy Thanksgiving. I am taking a few moments to remember what I have to be thankful for this day of thanksgiving. I hope you do the same.
Most importantly I am thankful for my eternal salvation which has been paid for by Jesus Christ my Lord. I am thankful that it is free through grace and not dependent upon my works. If it was, I would truly fail to make it, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
I am grateful for my wife of 34 years. Lori supports me in all I do, she spends countless hours and energy on my children and now my grandchildren. She truly makes our house a home.
I am thankful for my family. I have three great children who have grown into wonderful adults-better than I could have ever hoped. They have all married wonderful partners and the future of our family is steeped for success. They all listen to the call of God and He is blessing them.
I am grateful for the church I attend and those I have attended in the past. I have enjoyed the wonderful Pastors who have remained faithful to teaching God’s word. What a privilege to walk through life with confidence as these men have revealed the mind of God to me.Â
I am grateful for my profession and employment. I have been working since I was 6 and have never made so much, working so little. Is that how it’s supposed to be as you grow older?
I am still grateful for the country I live in. It doesn’t follow the principles of the Lord anymore and discipline is surely ahead. But it is still one of the greatest nations in the world.
I am grateful for the great patriots of the past who loved God, loved freedom, and spent their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor grounding it in the Biblical principles that hang on by a thread yet today.
Happy Thanksgiving!
