The saying “Better dead than red”  is a throwback phrase from the 1960s. I remember it from my days as a young student. It was used to represent the ideology that living under the rule of socialism or communism was worse than being dead. If you loved freedom and had to make a choice, dead would be better.
I don’t think many of our younger citizens believe that to be true anymore. Just as the communist rulers planned, they have destroyed our nation from within since they were not strong enough to do it from without.
How many people today would rather go hungry than to accept governmental handouts in the form of EBT (Food Stamps)? How many people today would rather suffer a little pain than receive state supplied medical assistance? How many people today would rather work a second job to get ahead rather than accept assistance from the federal or state governments in the form of entitlements? Exactly!
Look at the presidential campaign itself. The biggest question on the mind of most people voting seems to be which candidate will give me the most free stuff? The communist party plan has worked perfectly and I truly believe they have won a victory.
Whatever happened to the famous inaugural statement of President John F. Kennedy, “Ask not what your country can do for you-Â ask what you can do for your country.”
