Bless the lord, O my soul. That is how Psalm 103 begins, as David reminds us of how worthy God is of our praise. He then spends the next 22 verses spelling those reasons out. Â He includes the forgiveness of iniquities (sins), healing our diseases, redemption of our souls, the giving of love and mercy, and many more.
In verse 12 he candidly points out that our sins are removed …as far as the east is from the west. Interestingly,  he didn’t say …as far as the north is from the south.
The North and South poles are approximately 12,000 miles apart as the crow flies. If God removed our sin only that far, we would still find it and remain feeling guilty. But God has removed our guilt by saying the distance our sin is removed is as far as the east is from the west.
This distance is immeasurable. God also puts it another way: I will remember it no more. Bless the Lord, O my soul!!!
