The latest news on the medical front is that the AMA (American Medical Association) lacks the credibility it used to have among physicians. Apparently it’s news that more than 70% of phycicians are not members of the AMA because they feel that they are not representing most physcians on current issues. This means that your doctor probably isn’t a member either.
Recently, the AMA came into hot water a little more than usual when it came out in support of ObamaCare–an obvious political move which most physicans do not support. Â
Let me give you some real news. The AMA is nothing more than the communist party branch of current physicians practicing medicine today. In fact, I don’t know a single physician, at least in my circle of colleagues, that is a current member.Â
And as with many members, my initial membership came as part of my medical school package. Once I learned who they really were and once I was expected to pay the annual dues myself, I was out of there. Â
The AMA has nothing to do with my medical licensing, by the way. Unfortunately, many physicians feel the need to be accepted by all their other colleagues and so they don’t take the initiative to tell the AMA where to stick it. And as experts in anatomy, we know right where that would be. I would use a gloved hand.
